Pharmacy Technician Students will learn the basic concepts of pharmacology, knowledge of practice settings, standards and ethics, federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations, basic pharmacy calculations, drug dosages, route and forms, conversion tables, recordkeeping, drug manufacturing, packaging, and labeling of drug products. Pharmacy Technician (Prerequisite Required) This is a full-year, two-semester program, August through May. Introduction to Pharmacy procedures, operations, drugs, medications, dosage forms & strengths, inventory control, and assisting the Pharmacist.
The Pharmacy Technician Program prepares students to successfully attain training and qualifications to become a Pharmacy Technician. Successful course completion qualifies students to apply to the California Board of Pharmacy for a Registered Pharmacy Technician license. To enroll, a student must be 18 years of age or older; must have a US high school diploma or HSE certificate (GED or HiSET).
